January would be considered a “shoulder” month on the Rogue. Yes, fresh winter steelhead are starting to enter the Lower Rogue. But, it’s also a time when late run, native steelhead are present and entering the Upper Rogue. These fish tend to be larger and more aggressive. And they are much easier to catch than the lower river early winters.

So, for January only, I am offering a reduced rate for guided steelhead trips on the Upper Rogue. It’s a great opportunity to hook some quality fish, work on your Spey casting, and of course have a good time on the water!
